The creation of a major up market district on Abu Dhabi's Saadiyat Island has begun with the groundwork for a US$200 million Guggenheim Museum. Abu Dhabi is sometimes know as the Manhattan of the illustrous Middle East, the beautiful city is rammed with skyscrapers and dazzling beaches.

Transportation

Abu Dhabi International Airport- (AUH) serves this city. The local time is GMT + 4 hours. Private vehicles and taxis are the primary means of transportation in the city. There is a 4 AED pick-up fee plus 1 AED per km. Public buses are available, but are not widely used. The fare starts at 2 AED and it is rare for the fare to go above 6 AED during intracity travel.


ABU DHABI - THINGS TO SEE:
Abu Dhabi is the largest of the UAE states. It takes pride in offering miles of virgin, untouched coastline. The city is slick, surrounded by high gleaming mirrored office blocks and Hotels.
The city also boasts amazing Hotel resorts dotted around the Gulf coastline.

At the eastern end of the City, lies Abu Dhabi's fresh produce markets and a small wharf. although it may not be as exciting as Dubai's waterfront it does offer good local colour and an interesting Iranian Souq.
